Michael Carrick is set to remain in charge of Manchester United’s game against Chelsea this weekend having being handed another chance to turn things around at Old Trafford.
The United boss held talks with chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox on Monday in the wake of the dismal 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth.
It continued United’s worst ever start to a Premier League season, leaving them hovering above the relegation zone having taken just seven points from eight games.
The Bournemouth defeat came just days after a humiliating night in the Champions League, beaten 4-1 by competition debutants Como with Bruno Fernandes blasting the manager in the aftermath.

United have been exploring alternative options with Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann thought to be the front runners to replace Carrick.
But United are not fully sold on the those vying for the job.
Carrick took first-team training on Tuesday despite the uncertainty and will remain in place for the trip to Chelsea on Saturday 31 October.
