Arsenal were handed a boost prior to Sunday’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest after Morgan Gibbs-White was ruled out through injury.
The England international picked up a calf injury in last weekend’s defeat at Crystal Palace and has not trained all week.
He had been expected to train with the squad on Saturday and was assessed before the visit of the champions.
‘Morgan Gibbs–White is a doubt, he couldn’t train the entire week with us,’ boss Oliver Glasner said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
‘But it looks like he can join tomorrow’s session.
‘He had an individual session today with our rehab coaches, and he suffered a minor muscle injury at Palace.
‘Then we have to see how he reacts today and how he deals with tomorrow’s session, and then how we take the final decision.’
Arsenal, meanwhile, made a number of changes following Tuesday’s routine 3-0 Champions League win against Lille.
Captain Martin Odegaard, along with Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz were restored to the starting line-up with Noni Madueke, Mikel Merino and Viktor Gyokeres dropping to the bench.
